Kanpur: The fourth season of the UP T20 League Season 4 will be held from August 14 to September 6, 2026, the Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association announced during a press conference at Green Park in Kanpur on Tuesday.
League officials unveiled a detailed roadmap for the upcoming edition, which will feature six franchise teams representing different regions of Uttar Pradesh. The central theme for Season 4 has been identified as “Consolidation & Effective Execution,” with a focus on making the tournament more professional, competitive, and operationally efficient.
According to the league management, franchises will be permitted to retain between six and 12 players ahead of the new season. Each squad will comprise 23 to 25 players, including auction selections and local talent identified through district-level scouting programs. The governing body has fixed the team purse at Rs 1.25 crore, while the existing minimum fee structure for emerging players will remain unchanged.
The UPCA also announced the key dates for transfers and player trials. The transfer window will remain open from June 1 to June 15, while player trials and talent hunt initiatives will continue throughout June across various districts of the state. The initiative aims to identify promising grassroots cricketers and provide them with opportunities at a competitive platform.

In a major boost for the league’s commercial growth, officials confirmed that Season 4 will be broadcast on the Sony Network, a move expected to significantly expand its reach and visibility. Organizers also revealed plans for a celebrity partnership model involving limited equity participation to strengthen branding and fan engagement. Trophy tours across all franchise cities will also be conducted after the player auction to build excitement among supporters.
Speaking at the event, UP T20 League Chairman Dr. Sanjay Kapoor said the upcoming season would mark an important milestone for the tournament, with greater emphasis on transparency, talent scouting, and operational excellence. UPCA Honorary Secretary Prem Manohar Gupta highlighted the league’s growing role as a platform for young cricketers from Uttar Pradesh to showcase their abilities at a professional level.
Members of the governing council, including Sanjeev Singh and CEO Ankit Chatterjee, were also present during the announcement.
